I know it is already the middle of September, but out here in the Pacific Northwest we have been having real live sunny summer days thru most of August and September. It is to the point now that we all know that these sunny days are numbered; leaves are turning and shadows are lengthening. My garden smells of fall compost, mornings are cool and misty. Soon we will be smothered under a heavy wet grey blanket of a sky, so today I am savoring one of the last sunny days. Here’s to long lazy afternoons. May we all have one or two more.
