The rain did finally arrive in Kenya and the Maasai women’s grass seed program is a success so far. It is easy to forget that there are many people for whom rain means crop or no crop at all, food and no food at all. For some of us climate change is an inconvenience, or a persistent worry, but for the most impoverished people on the planet and those most dependent on the environment, climate change can spell life or death. Not many times in my life I have found myself lining up with the Pope, but when he states that it is a problem of not only science, but also of morality I think he got it right. See what a little solid science education and a dose of human compassion can do for a theology?
