I just got home from a wonderful workshop in Tofino on Vancouver Island with a great group of people. I was teaching with my pal David Middleton and both of us commented on how much we enjoy spending time with photographers of all levels in beautiful spots. Every time we return to a favorite spot we find something new to discover – usually through the eyes of the participants! Everyone of us sees the world differently – sometimes alarmingly so – but that makes each trip unique and exciting.
Next up on the workshop agenda? David and I are looking forward to returning to the Oregon Coast in July. If you have never been to the Oregon Coast you have to put it on your bucket list, as it is home to some of the most spectacular shoreline in North America. We have a great time poking around in New Port harbor, photographing tide pools and light houses, and making fun portraits of puffins!
Some people are forest junkies, some are crazy for animals, but me? I am happiest in a harbor – whether it is in BC, Oregon or Maine, I love to hang around harbors. I love the gear, the boats, the water and the colorful cast of characters for whom the sea is their livelihood. So if you want to come play on the beach, make portraits of puffins, photograph light houses, or poke around the harbor please join David and me in July.
